Hi,

I'm looking for a flexible software tool to help me quickly setup an online shop. It will sell 2-5 types of items, and it should handle a moderate amount of traffic per month. Most importantly, is should be compatible with the widest possible spectrum of platforms out there. I have options to upgrade from Dreamweaver Studio and FrontPage 2000 to newer versions. I hear Macromedia has a fast eShop construction mechanism, I hope someone can comment on that.

The cleanest and most flexible website construction program is Notepad.

...seriously...

Just grap a book on whatever you want to code the site in (DHTML, XML, XHTML, HTML with PEARL, Java, javascript, ASP, JSP, etc...) and code it yourself in Notepad.

That way you are guaranteed that you will have only the code you want/need and that it will be standards-compliant. If it is standards-compliant, it will work in all web browsers and on all platforms.
