Hi,

does anyone have any insight into how i can get rid of these strange lines in the volumetric light? I tried setting the quality to best, which improves it but I still have lines in the render.

Thanks

have you check your AA level ?
maybe with a better anti alias you could have better result

I have rendered with AA at medium with no improvment. I will try High and see if that helps. I also made sure Volumetric AA was turned on in the volumetrics panel.

Try using Vector Blur (in your post processing filters) and see if that works :)

Are you using a shadow-mapped spotlight? If so, try increasing the shadow map resolution and/or fuzziness or, better still, turn it to raytraced shadows. If you use projection images with volumetric spots you can get similar banding occasionally. Make sure you haven't accidentally turned off volumetric antialiasing, too.

what type of light are you using?

It is a point light, raytraced shadows, volumetric AA turned on.
I will try Leigh's vector blur suggestion when I get home. Thanks
