Well, I wondered if this should go in game art or not (since that's what it is, but it's remotely rendered . . . )

I'm posting it because I'd be interested to hear comments on it, and to see if anyone actually can work out what is going on.

It will be animated, and is forming part of a pitch for something . . . (yes it's mine to show here)

Thanks

Looks like interface art for a options screen to me. Interesting.

Seems to be a good start.
You need to clean up the sliders on the right so they do not over hang the edge, unless that is by design. I can see that, that side is still in prodution.

The top is a bit empty and it could benifit the composition if there were something there.

Just my two cents and a chance to ramble. ;)

You're both pretty close as to what it is. The key thing is the colour of the whales, you bet on who will win using the colour buttons on your remote. These graphics form part of (one of) the video streams, and I'm also working on the STB overlay interface. Currently I'm building a one race proof of concept, which could then be applied to all sorts of things. (If you've seen Banzai and used the interactive on it you'll get the drift; it's a bit like Banzai with real money.)

Regarding the design . . .
Firstly, you're the second person to say about the checkerboard thing to me, so I will have to look into it (the current logic being they mark the end of the areas, but if it doesn't make sense to people other than just me it's no good.)

I've added a speech bubble at the top, for commentary and the like, and the top left is empty for channel graphics, the bottom for interactive overlays.

I'll post a more complete mock up when i'm done.

And here is that more complete mock up. I've added some fake overlays, and one STB component (the money number).

I get it now!!! :) Suggestion: If the area on the right is the finnish line maybe then you need to extend the slots so it will look more like they are finnishing over the line instead of at the line.

Just a thought! :)
