I've always been pretty content with my Tablet PC. Except when I began using an iMac at school. Now I hate my tablet.
Any time I try to paint on it (which I what I bought it for), I notice the colors look totally different on another PC or on the Mac. I know it's a calibration issue, but I can't seem to find how to change anything other than the gamma or brightness on it.

I really noticed it today when I tried to show off an image on the PC that I had created on the Mac. I chose really bright, vibrant greens for my image but they look washed out and blue-tinted on my PC. I've adjusted the gamma, and it only seems to make it worse.

Below is the image I made. On the left is what it looks like on my iPhone (looks exactly the same on the iMac) and on the right is the Tablet PC. It looks like a saturation issue mostly, along with the green looking too blue. However, if I adjust the gamma to use less blue, then all the whites and greys end up looking too red! I even adjusted the red down, but that just made everything look horrible.
I don't really know what to do at this point. I'm pretty new at this calibration thing. I'll be happy with some basic results. It needn't be perfect. Also, may I mention that I am a starving student, so nothing expensive please!

A crappy display can't be calibrated to match a good display because every monitor has different color space and limits but calibrating will help them match a little better. There are a few color calibration tools out there for about $100 and lots for more than that. The advantage of a calibration tool is it'll match it for you and it makes the changes in software (since you don't have any other adjustments). If $100 is not worth it then search for monitor calibration on Google which might help a little.

Hind sight is 20/20 but this is one of the reasons why buying a tablet laptop is a bad idea for graphics work. Most have terrible monitors with relatively limited color space which is probably why images look less saturated. Cheers!
