As long as you're in the standalone player, you can use the fscommand ... comands. For instance,

fscommand("allowscale", "false");
fscommand("fullscreen", "true");
fscommand("shomenu", "false");

will take away the menu bar, make the window static sized and centered, and fill the desktop with whatever your background file color is in Flash. I've used it a couple times on distributed CD-ROM presentations.
