I would like to ask this question of students who are currently enrolled or beginning a degree program with a game art or programming focus. How has the state of the industry affected your decision or confidence in your educational pursuits? As well all know, currently many game studios are having a rough time and layoffs are common industry-wide. Has this motivated you or discouraged you? Where do you imagine the game industry will be at when you are ready to graduate? Do you have any plans to help yourself stand out when you graduate?

Almost all industries are hurting and layoffs are happening all across the board... So just go for what you like and when everything to turns for the better hopefully you'll fall into whatever you chose to do.

yeah I am currently in my last year doing my BA hons in computer art. At present iam a little worried about getting a job, I have had a look at some companies and it seems that their only postions are Lead or senior postions nothing for graduates. I think though what iam doing will mabye put me a little ahead as iam studying stereoscopic 3D and looking at how that can be used to enhance the users emotional response to the piece.
