Hello all,

I am searching for tutorials about modelling and texturing beach environments (shores and bank slopes). I have got some ideas of realising such scenes, but the results aren't very convincing so far.

I would like to achieve the graphical style of Shrek, it has not to be photorealistic. :D

If you guys could give me some hints or links to such tutorials I would be very glad.

Have a nice day, bye.

Hi, Noryx.

You might want to try a 3DS Max landscape tutorial by Rico Holmes on the following site: http://www.ricoholmes.com Go to the section "others" then "tutorials". It's a pretty good tut and can easily be adjusted to create beach scenes when you apply the right textures.

Hope this helps,
Suzanne

Hello Suzanne,

thank you for your hint.
I regret that I have to say that I knew those sites before as well as the tutorial. The modelling-technique is okay, but I need some additional information about the texturing and how to combine good texture-maps with the best possible modelling so that the scene looks good without having long render-sequences as a consequence.

If you know something about that as well it would be great. ;)

Thanks a lot, see ya!
