View Full Version : Multiple UV Tiles can't paintin

i can’t painting when my object have Multiple UV Tiles? at the mud mudbox take error something thing like this:((some areas are not loaded. to paint these areas. you must first load their uv tiles.hold the cursor over the area and press up arrow to load or unload the tile)).
at the zbrush i haven’t this problem.

you have to load the other uv tiles with the up arrow key...
this is a great feature to free your GPU memmory...
cause mud loads all your texures into the GPU RAM...
and if you use dozens of tiles your rig wouldnt handle it...

thank you oglu and good to see you again. yeah this's very easy. mudbox is comfortable for me but idon't know why this direction software haven't any ui icon, most direct to exist shortkey!
and i don't exactly understand if i use multiUVs my rig wouldn't handle?!

if one 4k 16bit .tif uses theoretical ~5mb in your gpu ram...
paint 20 layers in different channels and 25 uv tiles you will end up with 2,5gig of textures mud will load into your graphics card ram...

so i think its an good idea to unload some of these texures if not in use... :D

i have a 1 gig graphic Gpu, and use 6 uvs tile.
i think better i use png8bit format because my texture size is 4096x4096.!and when i use another format, it's not fluent to painting.
