About 35 min in Painter X using the charcoal brushes. I think I like these a lot better than the chalk brushes I tried to use a few days ago. I'm not completely sure because I tried to go straight to color with the chalk and that usually doesn't work for me because I get the values wrong and end up with not enough contrast. I drew this one in gray and then went over the top with a colorize layer and a few other layer types.

 I'm still a Photoshop nub.. but I'm kinda happy with how this one turned out.
Bout 30 min of actual sketching, and 15 or so playing with brushes.

Hey there,

This is my first post on this site. I've looked around the forums for a long time, figured it was about time I post.

Hello everyone. This is my very first post EVER! So obviously this is my first attempt at a daily sketch, and my first try at a speedy sketch in general (I'm not very quick yet). This image was created in PS in about 44min. I used "Blur's Good Brush" set for the first time; I used them exclusively on this piece to get a feel for some of the brushes in this set, and it is a very nice set. I really wanted to get a lot more detail in the climbers, but I would have gone over time. So anyway I hope you like it.

For some reason TV's favorite child hero wouldn't stop bouncing around in my head.

Thanks daw. I didn't realize that it was a suggestion, so I should have gone and put in more detail on the climbers, oh well. By the way, I love the character in your sketch; he cracks me up.
