Hey guys

Right now for a project I am looking to model a very ornamental type of column called a Corinthian column. I am not sure how to go about modeling this in such a way so that I may bake down the high res into a normal map. If someone has any sort of tutorials or anything that can be of any help at all that would be AWESOME. Thank you guys for taking the time to read the post.

That would be easier to polymodel than you'd think. For such an ornate piece i wouldn't rely on normal maps. You could use a combination of straight polymodeling for some of it and sculpt and retopo for the rest.Remember, you'd only have to create 1/4 of it.
