tjnyc 08-18-2003, 03:37 PM Curious if someone has ever setup IK/FK Switching using a 3 arm setup like in Maya for the arms or legs?

Hey there,
It shouldn't be so hard to to actually. Just use the mix button and tie a slider to it's percentage of influence.
Although I have come up with a more elegant solution if you wnat I can send it to you.
Cheers

Hey Stray...
Any chance I can get a hold of that elegant solution?
pleeeease. wes@wesart.com
Right in the middle of tweaking a rig for a character and would love to look at it.

I'd like to take a peek at that if at all possible! Right now I have two versions of my rig, one with FK arms and one wih IK--not a very elegant solution!

I don't have a hosting service right now. So if you guys want you can e-mail me at rybercorp@hotmail.com and I will send it to you.
The one that Kai uses is based on a file posted by a guy named Sven Hauth.
I wonder when Kai's CD is going to come out?
Anyways, feel free to e-mail me.

Thanks for the offer. I was wondering if you can give us a brief explanation of your solution.
Thanks,

Do you want me to put it on my site for download?

Hey Wes,
That is a great idea.
Although I am actually working on a rig with all of the bells and whistles that I hope to post soon.
Currently I am setting up my new office so I am not going to have too much time for the next 2 weeks.
I am going to be implementing some new functionality to it. So hopefully soon I will have something that everyone can work with.
I will let you know .

Do you want me to go ahead and host the folder you sent me for now?
We can wait for your other rig, if you'd rather.

Actually, Things are going to be changing a whole lot in the next 2 weeks.
I think I am going to wait for the new point update to post anything.
Also the MOCCA one isn't mine. It is from Sven Hauth. I know he gave it out freely but I haven't asked him if I can post it anywhere.
In the meantime I am writing an extensive tutorial on the subject of CA.
There were rumors that MAXON were going to address the biped issue late in summer. I want to see what they were going to come up with.
Anything that I am working on could be rendered null (no pun intended) and void within a very short time.
