View Full Version : maya light fog 2010
daddyo 11-15-2009, 04:27 AM In maya 2009, I could use light fog from the maya light nodes with mental ray. It doesn't work the same anymore in 2010. Does anyone know what's changed? I spent an hour on it and I know there's just some flag, somewhere, that now has to be tweaked for it to work like it used to.

I know someone else who has come across this problem, so I'm bumping the thread :P

Do you mean the Auto-Volume-Flag in the Rendering-Features-Tab?

That flag seems to work. here is also another way to get mental ray to render nice volume lighting.

Might take alot longer to set up but produces a nice effect.

I'll check that flag ASAP... I work on 2009 at work, but I own 2010 at home.

Uh, just came into my mind that I had also trouble with the maya-light-fog but increasing the volume-samples (just below the auto-volume-flag) helped.
But this is already implemented in 2009 (I dont posess 2010)
