Hi, Following is the render of a Maya scene in MentalRay.
There is a Point Light in the scene which is my base light for the scene casting raytrace shadows.
what I did is I switched off the 'illuminate by default' attribute of this point light in its attribute editor window
and then I linked this light to every object in the scene(including the door in the scene) apart from the bulb on the wall.(by Rendering-Lighting/Shading-Make lights link)

But after following this step when I take out the render in mentalray , my door appears to have lost its texture and appears black.

Even if I take out my render with Maya scanline then also the same problem persists.

I checked my object's(door)Face Normals.They are perfect.

Hope somebody has a solution to my problem.
Thanks in advance:)

Thanks Pankaj. I had not laid the UVs for my door and instead selected individual faces and had assigned different materials and textures to them. And 'Light Linking' didnt accept this sort of texuring. My problem is solved. The way I had texured my door was wrong.I had to lay its UVs.
