I'd be proud to have that in my portfolio...

Fantastic work, but the render times... (110 days)!

Great pieces, but i think Jens has work of the same quality (or more) with more reasonable render times.

Wow there is a lot of realism in these pieces no disrespect to Jens work but you might think in your comments.

Felix simply stated that Jens did beautiful car animations with far better render times.
No critic on the guy work. Nice modeling, good animation, a sense of humor but awful render time...
By checking the movie he made about 4 minutes of render in 110 days. That's about 23 minutes per frame... I did the following test at 40 seconds per frame. Not a fair comparison I know but still 23 minutes per frame!!!?

Richard that is amazing , is that 3d? Wow are the cars 3d models or is a camera mapping, what in the world did you use to make that smoke. I am really shocked, and you said it was a simple test which looks to me like a stunt action piece.
Beautiful, just beautiful.
Edgard
I am not being condescending is just good test.

What I love of his short is its playfulness: the moment the guy shows his inner Michael Bay everything turns a bit Austin Powers III :D.
But yes, these render times simply are unreasonable.

Edgard,
Yes the cars are geometry and so are the stands. I used 5 copies of the same Volvo.
Smoke? There is no smoke. Maybe you refer to the cloud behind the rightmost car.
This is a skymap on the environment sphere.
These are models I already had. I simply put them together to get a render time.
Note that with twice the geometry, the render time barely differ.
