View Full Version : any C4D tutorial DVDs?
zendari 08-17-2003, 07:15 PM I was wondering if there is any tutorial DVDs out there I know there is a german one for animation but I am looking for a all around one that goes thru all the aspects of C4D 8. I just missed the aug 11 tour so trying to find other options. Or maybe good online tutorial links for a newbie.

check this out,www.cgartist.de
I bought it and i've no regrets,..apart from rigging you'll see some stuff on character modeling.(its cheaper from that URL, but i paid $50 bucks more from Maxon here in the US(also got Instant Monsters CD-Rom as a bonus)).

rigging DVD, just need some time with no classes, juist quittin me other job to make free time as the teaching business is definitely covering financial needs now. As for the other oone I had started and put aside for the riggingone, it was on modeling, but I doubt I will ever finish it as I no longer find myself modeling in C4D really :(
Maybe I"ll submit the two vids I have as freebies to c4d portal after I throw on some titles and such.

Clay almost exclusively, anxiously awaiting silo demo to compare but from the looks it has somethings that would be nice in clay but also has manything that I like clay for not having.

Any idea how close Clay is to release? And what's Silo? Some kind of grain modeler?

and if you read down you'll see someone mentione martin's opinion on when clay may see the light of day, and with current development speed I'm disappointed to say its probably accurate :(
Shame as hteres nothing out there even close to clay yet, silo looks promising though.
i have been looking for information on the program CLAY but can't find it on the internet. is it only offered to those beta testers? anyone have any info to share.

Hi there,
I don't know of any DVD's in english (German ones, ja) but there are some tutorial videos on the C4D Portal. Thirteen at last count. Don't expect anything groundbreaking, tho'.

hmm sorry to have highjacked this thread :/ Oh well this has been asked a few times recently.
Anyways, Clay is being developed by a soile person from the idea that a modeler should be clean and simple, and that its the workflow and design that make a modeler good more then the million and one modeling tools. Its designed more fo organic and character modeling as it doesn't realy have the accuracy needed for say making building or something.
the site has been down for while, nothing more then a nice render of a beautiful model and a sorry we'll be right back kind of thing http://www.rocket3d.com/ Just another sign of the develoment speed. Only teesters have it, and we have to be extremely hush hush about the details. If oyu check out the WIP sections and such you'll see more and more clay screenshots form certain cgtalk users and everyonce in a while at a cg fightclub a few of us try to do our tings in clay, but cgfightclubs are not usually organic enough.
Thats in part why I said for the most part, Iwould still use C4D if I need things for a set like Tables and buildings and such.
