Hi all. I'm fairly new at all this animation stuff and I'm having a hard time figuring out how to export an animation clip from Maya so that I can load it into my program.
So far my program loads .obj files, from there I convert to my own personal binary format for quicker future loading of the objects into my game. Until now I've just been loading objects, not animations.
First question. Can I export animations in .obj format? If so, pros and cons of doing so?
Second question. What format do you guys export your animations as?
I would like to be able to write my own animation loader, if any of you has done this can you provide me with any insights, or tips before starting out?
