View Full Version : Vue 8 blue haze bug?
rgdigital 11-06-2009, 10:39 PM I just upgraded to Vue 8 Infinite yesterday and have been just playing around with new features. I sculpted a very cool terrain with some overhangs and wanted to put my camera lower down on it, looking up a bit.
When I have the camera farther away from the terrain, everything looks fine. As soon as I move the camera anywhere on top of the terrain -no matter how close or far away from the terrain, the preview window turns blue with a thick fog. Move it away again and it's back to a normal atmosphere.
Why does this happen and is there a way around it? Otherwise, using these new "overhang/cave-capable" terrains is useless unless you're far away.

Is it just the preview window that does this or also the render? Try switching off atmo preview - might be an Open GL glitch. Very cool looking terrain there. Is that a procedural terrain or just a sculpted standard terrain?

It renders that way too.
And thanks -the terrain is a sculpted procedural.

Have you sent E-on a ticket on this. Seems like a pretty important bug if it is one. Please let us know what they say after yyou hear back from them. :)

I'm waiting to hear a reply, after sending in a ticket about this.
Can somebody else with Vue 8 Infinite try this as well?
-Make a procedural terrain with overhangs (not sure if it needs them or not)
-Move the camera towards the terrain and the atmosphere should turn a blue haze
-back it off and it should show as normal again.

I didn't have any problems - terrain is 256 meters square, overhang created to the point where mesh is tearing. Atmosphere is the default.
What size terrain and which atmosphere are you using?
I'm afraid I can upload the attachment, but can't seem to add it to the post, so you'll have to take my word for it...

I have Vue 8 complete and tried it. I did not notice that problem.
