Hi,

so after 6 years i'm going to buy a new pc, this what i have so far:

6gb of Corsair Dom CL8 1600

Intel i7 920

Gainward GTX260 GS
- Not sure about that, wanted to have an EVGA but only few vendors do have them and this one comes with either 896 or 1792mb of ram. Since i use 2x 1920x1200 i thought that might be important but somehow i have the feeling that 1,8 gigs of ram are a bit over the top..

be Quiet 450W E7
- Not sure about this one as well. Is it too much? Or ok? The CPU and GPU are about 300W alone and i'll only have 2HDDs and 1DVD Burner in there.. maybe a soundcard but thats about it.

EVGA X58 SLI LE
- Not interested in SLI right now but i've heard and read that it's a great board. What do you think? I've used Asus ever since but i've heard that they are not as good as they used to be.

As for the HDDs, i thought of buying Samsung again but i'm also interested in Seagate but i don't have any experience with Seagate :-/

Looking for a reliable PC for around 1100 euros fyi ;)
Please share your experience and optimize the build. Would be much appreciated. :)

You might want to look into getting a 500W power supply from a higher quality manufacturer, like PC Power & Cooling, Corsair, or Antec.

The 450W rating on the PSU you have might be the equivalent of a 400 or 350 from one of the brands I mentioned. Additionally, the PSU's capacity decreases over time, and with increased heat.

The one you have now might be ok, but i'd feel a lot more comfortable with a higher quality one, especially if you're planning any overclock of that 920, which can pull a lot of power when overclocked (or stock, for that matter)

As far as HDD's, Western Digital is recommended often.

You wont notice any difference between the 900 and the 1800 meg card, just grab whatever is cheapest. A 256 meg card will run 2x 30" screens fine

If youre just using 1-2 drives and youre going with the more budget 260 gfx card then 450 watts should be ok, but this wont leave you much room to upgrade in future and will limit the stability should you wish to overclock.

Changed the PSU to a 525W enermax (thought about the corsair too but they are much more expensive than this one, let's see when i do the final checkout ;))

Any thoughts about the mainboard? Looking for a rock-solid board with good features. SLI is not important. I took the evga because evga has good support and is supposed to be reliable and rock-solid ;)
