Hi guys
I've just started using vue 8 xStream with maya 2009 (mental ray) and have problems rendering indirect lighting when using maya models and vue lighting/atmosphere:
When I import my maya model (.obj) into vue standalone and create a global radiosity atmosphere, it's rendered with nice looking indirect lighting http://www.e-onsoftware.com/support/forum2/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif , but when I create the same atmosphere in maya, my model looks very different with no indirect lighting http://www.e-onsoftware.com/support/forum2/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif. The maya model is not intergrated correctly. If I save the vue scene with my model and open it in maya, it renders with the correct indirect illumination, but if I delete my model and replace it with the one in maya, it gets no indirect lighting(also loose the reflection in the water) http://www.e-onsoftware.com/support/forum2/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif. I can use final gather to get indirect illumination, but this won't give the same results(also bad for animations). Why does this happend? Do I have to import all my maya models into vue, create the atmosphere, then open this vue scene in maya? I'm working in a large maya scene with many referenced models and can't import all these models into vue. What's the correct workflow for using maya/vue?!? Please help
PS: This could be the beginning of a maya/Vue workflow tread.
