hi, i am new to this cg world.....

i have started max and this is my third model i created......
well modelling is fine but i don't know much about texturing....

this character is much from a tutorial.... but the texturing part is to difficult for me to understand. and do any one of you know a good plugin and/or a good tutorial on making hair.

so please if you guys can post links to any tutorials specific to my problem it will be greatful of you....

It looks like you have been using the Joan of Arc tut. Looks good. As far as texturing look in the max manual for the use of a modifier called unwrap UVW. This modifier used with a free plugin called texporter will make texturing this model a snap. What if does is flatten out your wires and you can take the jpeg or whatever into photoshop and paint textures. I'm looking for a tut now. I'll post when I find it.

Im not totally sure if this is a bad way of going about unwrap UVW but is this a bad method 1. select faces (eg. the hand) in unwrap UVW modifier then click edit and then choose flatten mapping then weld all the shapes togeather does that work ive been trying to figure out the best way for this for a while now every method i try sucks. anyone have any good methods?
