Select the vertices.

Edit Polygons --> Merge vertices (Options)

Set the max size to whatever you want. Click apply.

Sorry guys and gals if im not clear.... im following the subaru tutorial and im just tracing the outlines of the car and i just want to be able to merge two different splines that i create . I can snap points of diff splines together but that doesnt help me as i go to reselect the snapped point and its just one point over top of each other. Please help

Thanks,

maya default setting for Edit Polygons > Merge is set to zero, so no matter how hard you try verts WILL NOT MERGE. So crank that value up past 1.5 -- group select your verts and the MERGE command will work for you.

Sorry guys i may be stating this wrong forgive me im a nubie. Ok ill make it real simple ... im just drawing two splines using the CREATE-CV CURVE TOOL... ok and i draw two curves. Now all i want to do is connect the middle point of each curve together so that the two mid points of each curve are one. Now i could just snap points but like i said before it just puts the points over top of each other. When i try merge vertices with option distance greater than 1.5 it tell me i have the wrong selection for this process. And EDIT CURVES-ATTACH CURVES only combines the curves at the endpoints. I dont want the endpoints merged just the two selected points on the cuves in the middle. Please maya gurus help me

Thanks
D

Okay, if I understand you correctly you want a result like this:

+ ?

Solution:
Select one curve and Modify>Center Pivot. Now if this curve is not straight, and it is in fact 'curved' you will want the pivot point to actually lie on the curve itself.
The easiest way is to hit the insert key and then curve snap (the "c" hotkey) the pivot to the curve, you may need to play around to get it to snap but it will.
Now hit insert when you are satisfied with the result.
Once again hold down the "c" hotkey and snap that curve to the other curve.

Done. :)
