Hi all

I made a HDRI map in Maxwell studio, when I see it in photoshop or some other image program it looks normal... but when I apply it in 3ds max with vray, in vray light dome... the scene is fried, it's so bright that it look's like an alpha channel, I'm using physical camera,

when I apply any other non maxwell made hdri it looks normal... a friend of mine does exact same job in cinema4D + vray, he get's normal results

here is default result,

than when I set vray physical cam to minimum light (iso 2, f-number= 50, shutter speed 800) I get picture like this...

and this is the maxwell hdri

and this is a render with a non maxwell made hdri

If someone knows what do I need to do with maxwell or v-ray... I would be very thankful!

Are you using vrayhdri for hdri?

yep :)

it's like information that maxwell set's in that hdri map is ALLOT of light to be generated

Could it be just that the hdri values are huge? What about bringing the exposure down?

I dropped the exposure to minimum, almost got the black picture except the sun that showed as a spot... and I got... well.... kinda ok effect...

but it's not it...

I think that maxwell is to blame, I think he sends some information to that hdri map of a too bright sun I think... who knows.... maybe some of you? :)

Ask on the Maxwell forum about the ranges of values in the skies.
