Hi ,
I will like to know what settings to adjust the exporting from EIM to use quadrangles or n-gons . Since i am working with C4D for rendering my backdrop and i am in need of clean geometry which EIM is successful at least the very simple operations i am making.
C4D loves quadrangles or n-gons, there is an un-triangulate operation within C4D but that doesnt seem to solve the issue.
If i could find the way to export geometry form EIM as n-gons or quadrangles i think it will help.
I have tried exporting from EIM as OBJ which for wide shots does the trick but for close ups you can see the triangles, doesnt matter what do i do it just looks not elegant.

Anybody has got any experience on the subject, or is about time to get OBJ2FACT?
Thanks,Edgard

Hey Edgard
You have to be in "face" or "Poly" mode in order to use that untriangulate function in c4d....if i recall correctly, been a while since I used it. Once in that mode, select all faces then use it. It does a pretty good job. How complex is your model. I've gone into edge mode in c4d and deleted edges to make quads manually....the beauty of having a modeler in the animation app.....WOW what a concept!

If I set EIM's tesselation settings' Triangle Layers to No Triangles, and Parametric Grid Handling to Grid To Edges, I seem to get all quads and n-gons except in places such as sphere poles.

That was very helpful of you Juan. I exported as smooth to edges,no smoothing and no triangles as an OBJ working fine it will be best to input STL into C4D since the importer by default is not the most adequate for a full animation package.
Thanks,Edgard

EDIT: If you do regenerate in EIM with these settings you will get some weird results but it seems that it exports just fine in C4D.
