Hi All,
We haven't posted much under our new company name as we've been so busy since we founded Atomhawk Design back in July, after the shutdown of Midway Games Inc.
We've been eagerly working away on a number of great concept design projects, but unfortunately they are nearly all under non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) at this time
However we did recently work on a set of character concepts for a pitch that didn't work out (project cancelled) and so we are now able to show this work to the community ;)
The client wanted a new angle on the Medieval/Fantasy genre, but couldn't decide if it should be a more mature/dark art style or have a more light hearted stylized look like Final Fantasy, etc.
So we approached this by having one set of characters (Villains) by Peter Thompson and the other (Heroes) by Corlen Kruger, both working in very different styles.
Both artists used the same process of design, silhouettes to start with to find iconic shapes and then moving onto thumbnail sketches, before picking the design features for the final designs.
