View Full Version : Frustrating to switch back and forth between MB and 3D app?
jacobholm 11-04-2009, 07:53 AM Hello,
I am thinking about using MB, but then I am thinking that it must be frustrating having to export your character and needed scenemodels each time you want to finetune or make minor changes in the animations, then import them back into the 3D app?
Any comments?

It is really fast to tweak and resend the animation or you can do simple edits in your main software with out going back to MotionBuilder.
All depends on how you want to work but like any other process it can take a bit of getting used to.

I guess your're right about it being a matter of getting used to the workflow. The speed advantage of animating in motionbuilder will probably make up for it anyway.
Thanks for your answer, I'll probably go for MB.

What Brad said. It's a couple extra steps for sure with the plotting and exporting every time. But being able to keep your animation and mocap package-polygamous and not bound to a specific rig, model or scene (especially with the "exclusive merge"/"update scene elements" option) more then makes up for it.
