View Full Version : Multiple displacement maps under one shading group?

I have a model that has multiple parts with the same shader but different colour maps utilising the triple switch shader node as they have different uv sets. However, some of these parts also have displacement maps that need attaching. Is it actually possible to use the triple switch node with displacement maps? If not is there another alternative other than, redoing the uvs for all the pieces so that they are under the same map (I think this would be a really bad idea), or having a duplicate shader for each piece?
Thanks.

I'd use singleShadingSwitch instead because displacement is greyscale, not RGB. I' used it in a statue in a recent project and it worked just fine.

Hi
Try ctrl_multidispalce (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=87&t=251048&highlight=multidisplace) from francescaluce.

If I recall, that one's pretty sweet. Allows one to take place, then the other on top, get some nice non-linear displacements.

Thanks for your all help, I will try both methods. The ctrl_multidisplace shader looks very interesting. Cheers.
