Crap ... you already started coloring! I just saw this one and think it's great, but the weight doesn't seem positioned correctly. I think if he were to realistically hold himself up on stilts like that he should have his body positioned more between the stilts.

Actually, it'd make more sense to me if the arms were positioned downward and the grips of the stilts were horizontal rather than vertical.

Nice character design otherwise, and really good coloring so far.

Thanks Kirt!
yeah there are alot of issues with the way hes postion. Initially I had his hands on top but I didnt think it looked as nice visually and I pictured him more like runnin with plungers ( give him more of a comical feel and height )

I hope to clear up alot of the positioning of his body when I go to model him.

Again thanks for the wonderful critique and kind words !

Hey, I really like your concept a lot! I think I like the sketch version a bit better than your colored version so far. Specifically, with the stitches on the face and the boxy head, your guy is looking a bit like Frankenstein. I just think the head on the original looked a bit more unique....but, that's a personal preference.
Either way, good job! Can't wait to see this one develop!

Yeah it was more rounded in the first and figured since he was gonna be a game char(started the idea in the 3d challenge) I wanted to give him a lil more fierce look.

heres the link for my post in the 3d challenge for those who are interested:

Ive been struggling on him ( tryin to texture the 3d version and Ive never textured :P )
So I thought Id clean up junior and start coloing him as well. I want to eventually get the whole fam all done. Even if I dont get em all done by the end of this. So heres the clean up of JR.

Really like the style of your sketches! Stupid question: how do you learn to draw like that? Really good man :)

abyss103,
Thanks alot! Thats the reaction I wanted to get. I wanted a more cartoony silly feel.

Pttr,
Thanks for the kind comments about my sketching! About your question (its not stupid btw) I spend about an hour a day sketching and an hour in the books and 2 to 3 hours on the 3d. And workin with some great artists helps makes me feel like I really need to practice!

angel-o-polis,
Thanks for the kind words!

Melmann, I meant to comment on this earlier, but I just wanted to say I really like your drawings with this entry. If I had any critique at all on the first one, I'd say that the center of gravity seems off a little. I give him the benefit of the doubt and just assume he's a really strong guy, holding all that weight up though:). Fantastic job. Do more!

I really like the colors that you are using for the designs. What is your approach to coloring? I looks like you put the color in loose first then clean it up for the final version? I would love to know how you do it! Keep up the great designs Cheers
