Morphing with Character Studio?

Is there any tutorials out there for this? or is there a way that u can set up the Physique along with facial morphing? would it have to be two seperate objects? like the head then body? I can animate using character Studio but now I wanna explore facial Animtation while still animating the body at the same time.. :) well let me know if you know any thnks for your help!

Morphing and using cstudio is easy, I normally have the head detached to make creation of the morph targets easy.

Duplicate the head twice, one of the will be a master backup of the untouched mesh the other will act as the first morph target. select the first morph target and edit the vertices to show a quite obvious movement.

Now select your character and initial head as normal apply the physique modifier, now select your head mesh and add the morpher modifier, it will appear above the physique modifier. Click on the first channel and then select load object, click on the first morph target. Once its name is in the list simply pull the value up to 50 and watch you mesh come to life.

I have one character that is rigged with character studio and 30 morph targets. never had any problems. If you need a scene file as a demo let me know what version of max and cs you are using and I have one.

I'll set up a demo file with a few morph targets on a biped character and send it to you.

Glad to help

Okay I have created a quick head and morph setup with biped.

There are a few golden rules,

1. the morpher must be in the modifier stack below the physique one.

2. the biped character must be in position mode when you load your morph targets.

3. if you modify the morph targets after you have animated the biped, make sure the biped is put back into position mode before you click on the 'reload all morph targets' button. I have had errors with the morpher when reloading targets without having the head mesh in its original starting position.

4. I normally edit the physique envelope for the head and make it rigid so that the head doesn't get distorted in extreme movements.

here are the files

max file before physique and morpher are applied (http://www.3dheavy.com/morphbefore.max)

max file animated (http://www.3dheavy.com/morphafter.max)

head moving on csstudio biped with morph targets movie (http://www.3dheavy.com/morph.mov)

Have a look most of it should make sense.

Let me know if this helps.
