View Full Version : parent constraint in XSI
carsonmorton 11-03-2009, 07:34 AM I want a constraint in XSI (I'm working with foundation 5.0) that is equivalent to the parent constraint in Maya. It's been a few years since touching XSI, and I'm quite fuzzy on the rigging.
I'll probably feel stupid at how simple the answer is, but I'm asking anyway.

Uhm... don't know about the 'parent' constraint in Maya, but it sounds like the 'pose' constraint in XSI. Don't forget to switch on 'constraint comp' option before doing the operation: the child will keep its default position and orientation, but it will inherit the transformations of its parent (like if it was a direct hierarchy).

Yup, the pose constraint is the puppy you're looking for.
