View Full Version : Environment: Future2060/Cinema4Dxl
sanfranguy 08-15-2003, 09:11 PM This is probably the final version of this city. I may add windows and some more details in the future. But for now.

very poor texturing
you should have worked more on the admosphere(i think the lighting is the problem.. not matching the sky and all)
looks quite nice. one suggestion. try adding a fog @ the bottom of the buildings, like in the 5th element. gives the illusion of everything being really high

My take :
1. More Bump Map
2. Reduce Ships
3. Ships direction looks weird (try more random please)
4. Add ground fog
5. Reduce the brightness 20% and increase contrast 10%

you could add some motion blur to the vehicles too, they now seem to be floating in mid air.
and the thing that drawas most attention is the building with the large windows in the middle, but it appears out of proportions...
maybe you could add something that makes your image 'special', not one of those 10 in a dozen future-city-with-flying-vehicle like ones...

Personally, I see very little wrong with the textures other than the skybox. The lighting is what kills an otherwise stunning scene, it should be in night time to truly show the grandiose.
I think that was a little too harsh about the texturing, I mean it's not perfect, but I wouldn't say it's the worst I've seen or "very poor." :shame:
