Just to confirm, I have the same problem. It's probably just something we're overlooking.

When you render it as a movie, make sure you checked the box for sound properties . If you already did then i suggest you control ur soundcard settings or ur onboardsound settings if u use that.

i know whats the problem already...... my AE won't read wav files.... when i take a look at the layer sound wav, it's a dead straight line.... so i converted all my wavs into mp3s and it worked perfectly......

I am having the same problem. I can't believe that AE can't use wav files. What did you use to convert a wav to an mp3?

yeah nice source, but besides that, u can try some cd ripper softwares, they often come with format conversion ability... cos the output of ur CD songs, will either be wav or mp3. therefore, u can also use that feature to change from wav to mp3 or vice versa.....

Be careful with mp3, because AE don't know how to render it properly...
You should use an "aif" sound file ....
If you render with mp3 for movie as DV it will make some "blops"....
