hi out there,
i'm apparently a newbe here in the forum, i'm 19 years old and from germany... i have been playing around with 3d since i am 12..

never really accomplished any tasks or projects..

started working on a head 4 days ago ..

at the moment i'm trying to texture that guy...

i do not not which direction i want to go.. i did not make any drawings... the head built its shape on its own after a bit of modelling..

i imagined some thing like a mad professor, or a dark wizzard.. with a long beard or something don't know yet.

SO come on people help me .. suggest something..

and perhaps someone has a little help on lightning an texturing..

he looks more like a zombie .. or maybe it'll be a zombie`?

thx for now..

looks very nice, good work ,
crits - the wrinkles are way to sharp , spread it out a little, they look to sharp .
nice texturing , maybe some more skin blothes defects kind of and freckles. study the FF:TSW maps.

Hair idea was good, if you can get the same shape with different product, fur maybe it will be very good.
if using maya, mental ray, up the ttranslucency a little along with the incadesence for a bit mroe realism ,
else nice moddeling keep updates.

i wanted that guy to be a bit more cartoony .. the edges were supposed to give him a sharp look .. well perhaps i'll work on that at the whene i get texturing and lightning done better..

well theres the problem, i don't know how the shader networks work really

i hooked a ramp in the incandescence of a lambert and put a bump and color in it .

my texture is rather blurry, but its a 4096 * 4096 one... ?? tried to change filter settings but no real difference.. because the are blue freckles on him like between his eyebrows up the forhead..

btw. whats FF:TSW maps. ???

yeah plaid around with fur .. didn't get fur to scale in length at different spots..

>if using maya, mental ray, up the ttranslucency a little along >with the incadesence for a bit mroe realism ,

translucency is already at the highest setting possible.. and if i activate photons in the lights and try to render with mental ray i get no textures just the shadows drawn red? strange..

well lot to fix .. and alot to learn i think..

its quite different and more complex than max :))

thx, for now i keep u guys updated

i changed the lightning .. experimented with mental rays final gather .. just added two planes above the head with some incandescence .. the textures now show their quality alot more i think .. still tweaking and trying out new methods.. i'm a bit sad that noone really gives any c&c.. or gives some advice for better results ..

anyway..

Cool Model!
This guy is certainly scary! I just think that you may have exagerated a little on his wrinkles.

Keep it up

i worked on the hair again started again and again a few times .. i think i now got some suffisticating results..

the eyebrows i made have to be redone now .. and i still need to give the guy an oil texture .. or something like this but i don'T know how to stick it upon by lambert..

here it is..
