hey everyone....this will be a wip thread for eddy...bout 3 hours of modelling so far..ive decided to make him slightly higher on the poly count then i normally would...aiming for under 6k...if anyone could help me out with a site that has good reference pics of his black suit then that would be awesome...most that ive found are too dark so i cant see the detail...also would like some ideas for the hair...the way i have it now is taking up a ton of polys and id have to add to what i already have there...but really i cant think of a better way to model his fro...also jsut looking for any anatomy problems you see or anything else you think i can improve on :)

Nice model. Have you thought about poly planes with alpha maps for the hair?

Phil: what's your ant-quad philosophy regarding low poly models? And btw, the links don't work on your site.

i was thinknig aobut planes alpha mapped...but i jsut dont think thats gonna do the hair justice....maybe ill do a combination of half modellnig the hair and half planes

Total quadding is just a waist of unnessesary geometry. Instead of pleacing some healthy tries most people just quad and use more polys for something that will look and let it self animate the same.

I´m just to lazy to put up my site, I´m just to busy with my work.

whats the problem with quads? there is no reason to try to keep it all quads like you might in subd, if a tri works better in an area then use it. really how many polys would it save you to look at every edge anyway? i dont think the tradeoff of having to look at the mesh with messy tris is worth the 1% polys you might save with them.

nice model eyes look a litte strange though. looks just like him.

very childlike at this point. his head is way to large in proportion to his body. Also "stretch" him height wise, as I remember (Jonny Depp?) being very lanky looking in that movie.

EDIT: I meant the proportions.. not your ability. ;)

update...working on the scissors...but i pretty much gotta get him welded together now cause everything left to do is non symmetrical...aobut 4k polys now...alot of area where i can probably cut down...
