View Full Version : Problems with zip disk
i have a bit of a problem. I go to my school to work on some 3d max 4 stuff. Save my work on a 100 zip disk. Come back home to work on more max 4 stuff, and i get this OLE32.DLL error, and it crashes my computer! Could it be that i have windows ME. My school's computers uses Windows 2000 and NT. It seems to open the smaller files perfectly, but the larger files with bipeds, filters, etc it can't seem to open. Can anyone tell me what the hells going on.

I have a feeling your school's copies of the software used to open ur files are having conflicts of some sort trying to process large files. They probably need to reinstall the apps. ...

Windows ME is not a supported 3dsmax operating system.
Upgrade your OS to one thats supported. Either Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
Remember you should never bitch that something crashed under Windows ME...you should be happy it worked in the first place.

Ashe, are you trying to open the file directly off the zip drive? What happens if you copy it to your hard drive first? And yeah, get a better OS.

My advice would be to ditch ME ASAP, it is the worst OS I've ever used by far. Upgrading to Win2k would probably solve a majority of your problems from the off (you ever get that problem with the error message that just won't go away no matter how many times you click OK? That's ME for ya :p ).
