This was Created and Rendered in Cinema. It's not yet complete. 70% of the Buildings are mine, the others and the Imperial Shuttle are from http://scifi3d.theforce.net/

Will be complete soon.

Feedback would be nice.

And advice on light maps too.:shame:

are you the guy who posted that awesome ship on renderosity?
Post this.

Nice scene work but the buildings look to equal to me.
Maybe change some of them in color. The shapes are ok.

Cool!

I really like the city scape as it is--looks abstract--very surreal. Dont take any of this the wrong way (I'm a big SW fan myself) but I think the city feels a bit too removed from "reality" at the moment to work as a SW scene. For instance, I like the ziggazaggy pattern of windows on the buildings, but again, it doesnt look grounded in reality, which is what it appears you are trying to achieve. Looks like there are just bad UVs on the buildings causing the random placement of lights/windows. Also, the shuttle does not look like it belongs in the scene--almost looks like an afterthought. Personally, I would try removing the shuttle and explore the possibilities with just the cityscape-- which looks really cool.

If you want to make it work as the SW scene, I would try to get the hue of the ship and the city to match a little more. Using an environment object to create a unified ambient hue throughout the scene might help and a touch of fog for environmental perspective too. Maybe a bit of DOF to blur he city a bit? Maybe make the shuttle larger / more prominent--as it get lost.

The lighting on the ship seems wrong

Well he did say it was a WIP. Toss in some atmospheric effects, the buildings in the back should change as you view them through the air. Really nice though.

really nice :), I'm feeling the star wars vibe from it. Although it would be cool to see the runway a little more, and maybe have some blaster fire lol. Blaster fire seems to identify starwars scenes, plus its so darn cool.

Keep up the good work, and may the force be with you lol :).

I think the image is rather unbalanced.

I really like the top left part (the cityscape), but there is not much to see on the bottom half of the picture (or do I have my monitor brightness set too low?).

When the image loaded and I only saw the top left part, I went WOW! :applause:, but the rest of the picture somewhat spoiled the effect.

I don't much like the near DOF either, but that is probably subjective.

I would composite the shuttle higher in the picture and just crop out all the black areas and see what it looks like.

Agree with Pate (and adding to my post over at the C4DPortal) the lighting of the ship an the runnway (I didn't even notice it until just now) don't match. If the ship is going to be that bright then the ground needs to be brighter and visa versa.

Hey Guys. Thanks for all your feedback.

I think there's 2 things I really need to change ASAP. That 45° line on the uv-map that seems to run through-out.
My plan is to use several compositions and then piece them together at the end. A city/cloudscape at the bottom and some other space-vehicles elsewhere.

I think as suggested, I'll avoid the whole Star Wars thing.

Thanks Again
