I like it :)

Something unnatural about the way he bounces upward, it should be smoother than that, though. Normally when people walk we bounce up and down, and you have that in your scene, but it's too jerky.

Hey,

I decreased the movement in the hips and the shoulders. I also added more head movement. Please let me know what you think.

Looking pretty good so far!

I am by no means an expert, I'm still a student myself, but I do have a couple suggestions.

The first thing I'd suggest is that you might want to try having some overlapping action in the arms, because they look fairly stiff right now. I think doing so would really help, especially since the timing suggests a casual, lazy walk, which would make the arms really relaxed instead of so rigid. If that's what you're going for, I'd also try not having them swing back behind the body so much.

Also, I didn't see your first one, but you mentioned that you decreased movement in the hips and shoulders? Personally, I'd say try decreasing the hips some more, they still seem to be moving a bit too much to me, and it looks slightly unnatural.

Anyway, those are a couple things I thought of. Hope it helps!

That's not bad.

The feet look stiff. You could drag that toe when he's pulling the foot forward and also slap it down a frame after the foot is flat on the floor.

I think the arms are staying in their extreme positions a tad too long to give a freely swinging look.

You've got the fingers in a rigid claw pose. You'll probably want to loosen those up when you have the rest of the walk solved. (or quick cheat... make them a fist or have them holding a prop :D)

It might take a bit im focusing on a lip sync that's really got my attention. Ill post it when im ready to show you all :)

Hey Ustel!

The walk cycle is looking great so far! There are some things that could be improved though :P

One of the things I noticed is that the arms swing too slowly sometimes. I would made the spacing of the arms narrower and maybe remove some frames. It doesn't feel very natural right now. Also, there's some weird popping on the hips, you should remove it :P

You should also add some overlap on the feet and on the hands. Check the fingers because they are too closed for me, they don't feel very natural. Another thing you chould change is the rotation of the head, I would reduce it.

You should bend the spine back and forth more also because it's not very noticiable. And the last thing :P I think his hip should be higher because his legs are most of the time bent.

Another thing you could think of is trying to give the character some personality. How is he feeling? Sad, happy, enthusiastic, nervous, angry, depressed? That can help you with your walk. It's good to practise some kind of "normal" walk, but if you think about it, we never walk feeling anything. You are always cheerful, sad, tired, so you could try to make a walk making the character feel in some way and make the audience realize that he feels something because of how he is walking. Of course this is very difficult to achieve at first, but it's a good exercise!

Keep on working on it, it has improved a lot since the first one!

Good luck,

Jero
