thx everyone for the comments. here is short tutorial how i designed this:
I___________________
1) prepare simple scene in Cinema, one big sphere (the Main planet) na some small sphere (the others planets)
2) give it material with 3 channels:
- color (SLA Fusion with SLA Nosie - f.e. Cranal and Wavy Turbulence, with a big contrast settings) i used dark red and orange for the colors of noise
- bump - copy the channel from color but change the colors to white and black
- glow - small inside big outside, and 100% of random
- add this material to the planets
3) put 3 lights in the scene
- one - top for lighting the main planet (spft shadows)
- second for Lens effect - placed behide the main planet (soft shadows)
- third to fill the scene (soft shadows)
render it to PDS with the layers
II__________________
1) make new scene
2) put light and emitter
3) use settings form the sun.c4d (You could find it on Cinema CD)
4) use time line to produce some count of particles (use sun as child object to the emitter)
render this scene to PSD but the size od the pic must be bigger than first pic, because we used it later so we need good resolution
III_________________
1) make third scene
2) put light and black background
3) used Lens settings for making cool blast effects
render this to PSD, and in PS squeez it, i mean if You rendered 400x400 px so that You should get 100x400 pic in PS.
IV__________________
1) make next scene
2) put background object
3) add material with strafiled shader in color channel
render it to PSD but like in II step the pic must be bigger than main pic
Start PhostoShop (PS):
- put it all together
- mix the layers
- copy the light beam (from III step) and put it above the planet Layer - repeat until You get what You want
- copy Sun Lights (from II step) and resize it, change transfer mode to overllay - repeat until You get what You want
- at the top layer in PS put the gradient layer and change transfer to color (use colors that You like the most)
TIP:
- all effects from this pic came form PS
- good image processing will make cool this from simple scenes
- use cinema as support, i mean render some small things like explosion, lens effects etc. etc.
- duplicate layers in PS as many time You need (in this work i have 48 layers in PS)
- the main idea is that all work is made in PS, You can used brushes to correct the renders, to clone some parts, or damage part tha need this
- try changing transfer mode is cool training for the compositon
- this method is good for stills and for animation but only with post production i mean all work done in PS You must do in AE.
if You still need some information please tell.

and the last things...
work time - less than one hour :)
all pic at my site are hmm.. old, i mean i haven't time to update my website sorry for that,
and the last tips:
- use the power of light
- use the PSD render output it has power too
- if i find some time i can put the c4d scene for You (of course if You need this) or write small tutorial with images. but someone must remember me about that because i haven't time to sleep... so many work to do, so many things to learn... when i have some time i'll put my ships (from posts before) into this space scene, but i still can't finish them....
cheers

i know what you mean...but i think its a bit unfair just asking for the scene file like that...i mean what part don't you understand...what would you like to be able to do...rather than just the scene file....
a lot of work went into it...probably alot of trial and error by the artist...we are always happy to share efforts on here and that is the point but there are plenty of elements to that scene....anyway just imho.
dunno they maybe happy to just give it to you...
tell us what you wanna know...or try, or are having problems with and someone will always try to help.

i really understand where you are coming from. i hate to have my hand out like this, but i figured that it wouldn't hurt to try. you are right, there are a lot of steps to that project and it's pretty intimidating to me. i'm coming from photoshop 2d over to the 3d world and for me that is a big leap.
i was trying out some organic modeling and it is kicking my butt, so i figured that it would be benificial to navigate around someone elses scene.
i hope i didn't offend anyone with my request.

jugalo180 : no probs...if you take a look at the resources thread at the top of the cinema forum there are threads for tutorials..plugins...shaders the lot...also it would be worth taking a look at maxons site they have task based stuff on there which might help you get some confidence...its always intimidating...but just go for it bud...you'll be fine...
