Very nice start Echo.................I like the feel already at this early stage.cheekbones look very shapely,a strong face it appears at this early stage.I think it looks quite smooth....Simon looks alittle sad now,but perhaps with more care and work from you he'll be more happy real soon.Keep going he looks to have good promise.
thanks for the quality post

heya Ech0, I got your PM. nice to see you are working and posting here ince again. I will try to give you a few suggestions.
is that a 'freezed' object, or do you work with all those polygons? looks to dense to me.
you could easily get the same control with half the polycount, and it would be alot easier to model.
I would recommend giving the area over his eyes a little push out.
if you are going for a more realistic head, I would make his forehead taller, eyes are almost in the center of the head in real life(which I'm sure you know). but if it's a more cartoony/caricature character you can let it be like it is now...
maybe add the tearduck to if it's not to much problem.. but concentrate on the overal shape first, before going into the details.
I would also make his chin smoother, more organic. looks very sharp now, almost robotic.
a smoothShaded look of the model would help to spot mistakes easier to.
it's a good start though. the edgeloops are pretty good, but polycount looks high.
looking forward to see what you will do and where you will take him, and I will try to give more suggestions later on if I can,
take care
thanks for posting ,

Mr. Echo. ;)
Good stuff and good to see another model from you. I would agree with what is said above, and just curious on how the poly without the sub-d looks.
Yah - toss some eyes in there and model around them, etc. I usually snag some images from zines or something for reference.
rokin ;)

yea chap ill throw soem eyes in there and model it up some more and work on the poly count other then that keep the post coming
hey everyone sorry it took a bit for a new update but ive been busy simon was one of those projects that came about late night so i have to juggle him with other projects but anyway heres an update didnt like where it was going so i went back to a ealier version of him .
The whole thought process behind him is that he will be this big old brute type character and that he will have an alter ego that will be a smallr version of him kind of like a dr jekell mr hide type deal only with a twist he will be a prosioner of sorts not sure but he wears a huge gauntlet that goes around his neck which through electro shock triggers his transfermation its also a way that he can control it
more info to come and ill model the harnest type thing soon also
check above for updates
version 2.0 this is a updated versions

A little of the Hulk eh?;)
You know what might be a cool trick.................If you in one of your future shots show Simon(Big Version) looking into a reflection.................but what comes from the reflection is the alter Simon, the small one? :) In other words you can see both but in this praticular shot the two versions can be shown at once,
Ok just a thought.I'll keep checking up on you Echo.
wel i guess it is a little of the hulk thing going on man i didn't think of that but yea that sounds cool maybe i can make a shot where i have both of them in the mirror but the whole seens like a miniture model and have it roatate around if that sounds right like on a display
thanks for posting virtuoso i really apreciate it its so hard to get post and i know you posting helps my rep her on this board
ive done alot of tweaking on this its once again going to be for my demo reel so it has to be good i need ya comments and crits i still have to put the ears in so dont worrry about the side a ear will be there the way i model it all i have to do is extrude it out so other then that what do you guys think still have to tweak the eye area
Background:
After thinking about it i came up with his character design finally.
This guy will be abig burly type guy who is just huge! i mean big hes the type of guy who has a proble because his size is so intimidating(spelling). As you may have figure his name is simon he may look big but he likes the simple things and can be sweetheart just dont PiSS HIM OFF!! ill have to post up some drawing but i think im going have him wear a a undershirt with sapenders holding up j his pants as well as big clunky shoes and black gloves with the fingers cut out of them . Im going for the big bouncer type mafia solider look ok there you go enjoy

Yah I dig the updates on the model alot. Seems to carry alot of weight.. some great ground work for some personality.
Im going for the big bouncer type mafia solider look ok there you go enjoy haha I love that description..
Keep it rokin man - cant wait to see more. Heh and dig the wire renders with the heavy weight on the lines.
