Nice start...
I like a few things about this model of yours.
First of all, and I think that I am talking in the name of many of us here on forum, I like your unique style the most. I especially like four breaking points on the hat, and I think that this expression of style (usually used for 2D illustrations and animations), are great expressed here on this 3D model.You manage to get nice face expressions with a low detailed face, and that is pure art. Beard corresponding with shoes is a nice touch too. People usually forget a lots of great styles of drawing in 2D illustrations when trying to made some of 3D models, but I can see that you manage to bring that together in this case. Specific animation should take place here, not any animation, but animation with a goofy and frighten characteristics.
Excellent job, and I think that it would be a shame not to finish this model with promising style you have here.
