i kinda dont like it...maybe its because its in a left view....phearhaps if u made it in frontal ike in terminator cover it would look better...but then again...your idea woulodnt be so original

Okay, I've checked out your wallpaper over in DA.
Now then, what may be bugging you about the shadows on the skull in this version is that it is rotated to the vertical and on a white background, instead of resting on the back of the skull against a colored background. Personally I like the way you've handled the color, shading and texture of the bones and skin. There's a nice feel for age-stained bones there. Stylistically, the image is great. The problem doesn't seem to be with the shadows, but with the eye.
Try, on a new layer, filling the eye socket with the eye ball, making it more spherical. Then paint the eyelid back over it. This way you can flip the layer on and off to see whether or not this solves what bothers you about this piece without messing up your original.

Where is the transition? There is no visible transition. I think showing the actual transition between skin/muscle/veins/skull would be the best way to go
An maybe not a side view, they are very boring.

thank you for the comments,
keight: im going to try your advice about the eyeball to see if that helps, im glad you liked the style it was one of the main focus' of this piece.
LordShaitan: your accualy right when i started this piece i accually ment to have the viens and some more fun stuff life that, but i decided to go with this one because i like the subtle change from face to skull, i guess i should have called it fantasy skull or something like that
