CGTalk - guides affect fur

hey
i cant get it working.

so whats the trick to get the guides influence the fur?
fur material and guides share the same material tag, and in fur material
i set under guide tab to length and direction.

so am i missing sth, or is there a step by step description somewhere?

from the video in the help file, you have to set under guide tab to shape not length and direction. and for the lenght you can control it with a map in the shader tree.
