Hi!everybody....I watched the VTM tutorial V4 and doing facial animation in MB.But when I merge to my LightWave scene,my
character don't move...I think I've plot all the animations but when I merged it to my LW scene. it still don't move at all.I've tried every way I know.include:

1.plot animation in actor face area.
2.plot animation in character face area.
3.Choose the Root and its branch(the head) and plot animation, then save selected to a new fbx file.

But it still don't work......What can I do...?

Make sure you click "Plot All Takes" when plotting.

Did you keyframe the ActorFace?

No...I use its voice device to make my character's speak. As the VTM CD4's procedure,it don't need to set keyframe....

What's your naming convention for the endomorphs?
I had lots of problems with the norm, e.g., mouth.open. anything.
Ended up going with the long name, i.e., mouthopenanything. Seems the endds go into MB but they don't come out. At least with the acceptable format of lw.

No...I just create head model in FaceGen and generate some morph maps. They don't obey Endomorph's rule.....And I even don't apply endomorph to the scene.Just load it into layout, save the scene and export the FBX file to MB.
In MB, I can see all the morph map, and use these map to to animation.I just think MB transformed the mesh and send back to
LW(Just like Messiah).....Maybe I am wrong...
Do you think MB need to send back the information for Endomorph?

:)
I think that you do it that way and it isn't working might be the proof you need. ;)

Some how, that facial info has to get back to lw. My understanding is that that is through endomorphs and the use of morphmixer on those items to 'expose' this to FBX/ MB.
I hope someone corrects me on this, but MB is NOT a mesh deformer in it's LW interface; it's a bone controller and endomorph deformer, depending on these technologies in LW to do its thing. Hope that helps.:wavey:

Finally,I found the answer....Uncommongrafx,thank you for your remind.^_^.Below are my work step...

1)In modeler, create the morph map.You can just naming the morph map to "AA","BB","CC".....You can also naming your morph name to "Mouth_Open", but don't naming it as "Mouth.Open".That will be wrong.

2)Send it into Layout and apply MorphMixer. Then export FBX file.

3)In MB,assign the Character Face to it, then Actor Face. You need to Mapping your morph map in Character Face's label.

4)Then you just animate in Actor Face or in Voice Device. Finally,
Plot animation in Actor Face area, then Plot animation again in Character Face area.

5)Save your FBX file, then go to Layout, merge it.That character talk!!

Cheers!!!^_^

Right on, JerryJang!

Yeah, the way you had described is how I thought it would work, too. After reading the manual, though, it became clear how MB&Lw interact .
Hmmm, never thought about using the underscore....
Thanks for that tip!
