Hi everyone, what would be the best way to go about making a simple feather system. I'm thinking Pixar's "For the Birds" style, where the feathers are used to show expressions. Any tips or advice anyone? Thank you.

I have not tried it, most of the solutions I have seen involve the use of card-mapped feathers. You may want to check out http://www.hosok2.com/project/pFur/pFur.htm. He seems to have developed a good approach.

Another idea would be to use nCloth. Extrude some curves into cards, make them part of an nCloth dynamics solution for all secondary motion... I guess it depends on what you are trying to do.

Hey,

I'm also interested in the particleFur solution that you sent, but it doesn't seem to work on Maya 2009,
do you have any idea on how we could make the script work ?
It looks awesome, thats a shame it doesnt work anymore : (

Just started using this mel on a bird rig, and yes it does work in 2009.

Thank you so much Mr. Chang.
