View Full Version : Modifying a symmetrical model on both sides while keeping textured UVs intact

I have a model that I need to modify, but I can't mirror one side of the mesh after deleting half of it because then the UVs also get deleted and I have to redo them after modifying it.

Is there anyway I can modify it without disturbing the UVs while keeping it symmetrical?

This is in maya.

Hi mate,I'm not 100% sure if I undestand excaclty what your problem is but hope I can help.Maybe you should duplicate the one half and then pick up the uv of the mirror and translate them in the UV texture editor(I'm talking in Maya) to cover the other half of the texture.Tell me pls if this solved your problem,cheers!

I think in Maya you can check the reflection option in the tool settings to hav both (symetrical) sides of the object affected...
