Here are a couple of renders of my most recent character. I wanted to make him in a similar style to the other character I posted a while back called Simply Gorgeus(the one in my avatar). When animated his fat will jiggle.:)
I used MAX5 for modeling and Brazil for rendering. Photoshop for textures.
Comments and critique is welcome...

The lack of detail makes him even more exciting. Good texture job.Have you set him up for animation?

I really love that style. It's hard to say which I like more, this one or your avatar (this one has more detail, but your avatar is kinda cute heheh). I wanna see the anim with his fat jiggling :)

He rocks. :buttrock:

My only crit though concerns the battery. Batteries are heavy and I'd think that he'd be leaning forward more to compensate for that strap digging into his neck. (think someone wearing a hiking backpack for a long period.) Right now to me it looks like the battery is fairly weightless.

cheers on a great character though.

i love your style.. my only problem is that for a battery to work you need to create a circuit, so you need to have a connecter on both the top and bottom, correct? you only have it at the top, therefore there is no complete circuit and it wouldnt work..

amazing work though = )

Really cool style and the simple texturing fits good
to him go on... And like the others said animate him
would cool to see him walkin around :D
And @ WarpedMinds this is a 9 V Block not a Mingon Cell
both contacts are on the top :wip:

@rivendale - I absolutely love this char!!! It doesn't have a lot of detail but that really enhances his personality. I'm even A little scared when I look at him, lol. Any plans for giving him a weapon of some sort? I can totally picture him with a pickaxe for some reason, and being a miner in a cave. His eyes could work as lamps and look at that fat jiggle when he swings the axe! He also seems "earthwormy" and being deep in the dirt would fit I think.

I agree with the crits of a battery being heavy. I also have a small problem understanding the mechanics of how his knees work. I guess those could be tiny motors instead of large bolts for his kneecaps. Maybe just some subtle hints of gearing down there would work. I also have a problem with the area between his thumb and middle finger. It seems like it should be skinnier just in that area, or just give his thumb a second segment so it can bend better.

so simple, so smoothly textured, very cool, would love to see a walk anim! i can just see him taking a few steps and falling over backwards

one comment: the pack goes around his neck and he looks a little uncomfortable because of it.. poor guy :(

neat. cute character, good job. Looking at the battery strap around the neck bothers me, i'd make it like a backpack type strap or something.

Thanks a lot for the comments!
I have set him up for animation with Characterstudio and a Flex modifier for the jiggly fat, but I havn't done any morphragets yet. I might redo the setup with bones though to see if that works better.
Thanks for the suggestions too, I'll see what I can do. About the battery seeming too light; when I modelled him I think he was leaning back more than in the rendered pose, wich made it look heavier so that could be fixed. I agree about the knee part, some more mech down there would be good.
About the detail, yes he doesn't have a lot of detail and that was intentional, but because he's so small, it kinda makes him a detail in himself.;)

great character. like battery pack very much. Only thing to crit is definatly the hand. doesn't look as good as any other part of the model.
The strip around the neck would hurt this poor buddy. ouch.

I like what you have in your portfolio and it all seems to work in IE.
The translucence of the characters in the matchbook piece is really nice.
