I want this in 3D. Given that I work with C4d v10, how do I go about it?

i think you should use the edge extrude technique...start with a plane..go on extruding to get the right shape of the petals..or perhaps you can start with a sphere...delete the required amount of faces & then shape the remaining faces accordingly..
