Here's your problem (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vcce/htm/errcrun_12.asp)
Try to increase your swap/paging file (from control panel) or buy more 512 MB of RAM :)

Control Panel -> System - > Advanced -> Performance -> Advanced -> Change.
For Maya is good settings ->
Adjust for best performance - Programs
Memory Usage - System cache
Total paging file size - 1024(+)-1024(+)
:wavey:

This is something i am trying to figure out too...U see ..i think that win2000 machines and Maya 5.0 don't get along very well...just my opinion!!!....about win2003 server....it is possible u will solve your problem but u must configure and stop all the services that u don't need and start all those that u need and the setup of win2003 doesn't start automatically.
I think if u want to have less trouble on this matter and start working on your Maya earlier...just install WinXp with Service Pack1....
Windows 2000 tend to be very wierd with Service Pack 3 and especially 4 in new machines....my huble opinion once more...
P.S: i bought more memory and fixed my problem on my WinXp Intellistation.
In work i didn't solve the problem 'cuase Network Admin doesn't like XP....lol
