Ok.
Ive been looking at real life sideshow people and that is what i will base my concept on. Maybe a combination of these two.
Im thinking i will create a large dumb guy with the braun and a deformed brainy guy in his belly, abit kuato but i think iy could work well. Maybe the brainy guy is incharge, well most of the time.
Heres a sketch, i will sketch for a couple of days till i think that this is the way to go or not.
What do you think?

Cool (and gross;)). Reminds me of that guy from Total Recall.

Very good stuff. Excellent drawings and concept! Having the little guy smoking seems like a nice touch, maybe he could be sort of britishly refined and drink tea with his pinkie pointing straight out...

Bluemilk
08-14-2003, 02:40 PM
Thanks! i like the cup of tea idea, perhaps the big guy holds his hand out like a tray, so the little gut can rest the cup there.
1 more sketch now to modelling.

it looks from that last sketch like the big guy walking on his hands, or is that just me? And I love the "refined englishman" type look that James MK mentioned. I would suggest taking it further, perhaps the big guy wearing a top hat and open coat and bow tie, but very poorly dressed, as if the brainy guy had told him to do it, but the big guy just could'nt figure out how.

small update, havnt had much time to work on it. Having a little trouble with the neck, dont think my head suits being so fat, not sure. What do you reckon?

JamesMK
08-18-2003, 03:19 PM
Pretty nifty!

But you're right about the head... Doesn't seem to fit properly. I don't think the head per se is wrong though - maybe set it a bit further down, scale it up slightly, and let that lower edge of the "ring of fat" grow bigger outwards over the shoulders a lot more.... ummm... hope that made sense...

This is looking very nice.
Great progress so far.

Yeah, i might scap the head all together, think im gonna go and do some more sketching as ive straid away from the original idea alittle.
Also ive gotta start thinking abit of how to ground it in Victorian times too, gotta look at some clothing, boots etc.

Cant wait to get this into z brush
i think im gonna have to split it up too, such as the legs and lower body half as the is a 250k limit, then i will piece it all together again. Gotta learn how to UV map it correctly too.

How Do Mate

Looking really good, love the idea of him having that second head and those folded bony double jointed limps, And the hermaphrodite opportunities for the still poses ¡¥Genesis¡¦¡K. Like the way the fat host is coming along, great folds of flab and form. Can¡¦t help thinking he needs to be uglier, maybe make him look as if there used to a third conjoined twin, which died and was removed by a second rate have-a-go surgeon in the 14th century. Also think that he might benefit from a twisted spine, hunching over, walking with a battered, residue stained crutch, also support strapping, to hold up the extra load, and gratuities flab, you might want to get some pictures of Americans as reference ƒº

Any how keep up the good work

Later On
Mick

Done a crappy paintover with my mouse, like drawing with a wireless logitech brick!
just to see if i can actually make something out of this garbage. Not sure if the top hat is a good idea or not?
What do you reckon people?, some feedback would be much appreciated as im a bit lost with this one.
Cheers

JamesMK

Okie...

Hmmm... No, skip the top hat! And I would love to see the little guy hanging out a bit more, he looks a bit like an ornament now, if you see what I mean. Make him dangle about a bit :)

And I do hope, for the love of Zaphod, that the stuff hanging between his legs is a loindcloth, and not an enormously oversized and shredded... *:scream: * where the * :scream: * have sort of spilled out on the floor... :surprised

Bluemilk
08-19-2003, 11:56 PM
Looking at it now i see how funny the top hat looks, wot was i thinking, im trying to give a sort of vacant look to the big guy, kinda like he is a zombie controlled by the little guy, but it still aint working, ho hum.
How do you mean dangle out? Protrude outwards or down wards?
Thanks for crit

JamesMK
08-20-2003, 12:00 AM
Protrude outwards, mainly. That would make a secondary downwards result of course, but, yeah, mainly outwards IMO...

And I think the big guy already looks pretty vacant (insert Sex Pistols soundtrack here). Good job there!

great work. Love the fat design.

We seem to have the same rough idea, you have progressed a little further than I have. I got my inspiration from watching an old schwartzeneger movie... (Total Recall)

Cheers

Bytehawk

would be kewl to see the 'fat dynamics' applied to his flabs when he sits down.:applause:

JamesMK
08-21-2003, 12:51 PM
Really good job so far! Btw, is that a mirror-seam running along his chest or an intentional sort of seam/scar?

If it's just not welded here yet, it might be a nice touch to put a really long sort of post-operative surgical scar right about there.

Like a memento of an earlier, failed, attempt to cut the little guy out of the big guy... Just an idea

Dargon
08-21-2003, 01:18 PM
It's really coming along - but I think the fat on the fat guy part, for the most part, looks a little too muscular - too much definition.

The head could stand to be blended a little more to the body, by making the fat around his neck a little thicker.

I took the liberty to draw on your render to show how I think this could be helped... ...hope you don't mind.

Bluemilk

Wicked, Thanks Dargon, i see what you mean, thats GREAT!.
This is why im doing this challenge so i can really push myself as i feel i never really nail what i want on the head.

JamesMK, yeah its just a seam at the mo, good idea about scars and botched operations, i think locky said that too.

I put your paint over here so its easier to see
Thanks again Dargon

Bluemilk this looks nice like the arms the legs need much more fat - melt the belly and the legs more together

Ah, neat leg test. Couldn't stay away from Z-brush any longer, eh? :D Looking very nice, fat and foldy... And I see you added some stitches on his chest too - me likey!

BlueMilk,

The biggest sumotori was, I think, Konishiki.
