Im trying to set up an Xpresso tag with a number of object links in the user data area of the tag itself. These links are connected to the 'object' port of an equal number of object nodes inside the Xpresso tag. Im finding that none of the object nodes seem to 'pick up' the link references when they are placed in their respective link fields. They all just keep their link to the object the Xpresso tag is currently attached to. What am i doing wrong?

Ok I solved it. I didn't realise you could access as object's reference link directly by dragging the node's attributes into Xpresso.
EDIT 2:
OK so its not quite solved. Sometimes the links work and other times they don't. Is there a way to have a blank link in the user data and not have Xpresso freeze up?
