drunkmonk 08-13-2003, 01:30 PM I am looking for a program/plugin that can export maya models / scenes to a format that can be imported into 3d studio max r4 / 5 , anyone know some good programs / plugins that can do this?

in maya go into window> settings and prefs. >Plug-in manager. Look for a plugin named objExport.mll. Click in the box that says loaded to load it. Then select you object(s) and go to file> export selection. In the options window there will now be an obj. option. Select that to export the object. Then download obj.export for max. It is a free plugin and should be pretty easy to find. Load that plugin into max then (in max) go to file> import then select the obj object you exported from maya. Should work fine. If you have any probs. just post. :thumbsup:
